About
Our Mission, Vision, and Community Impact
The Al Mahdi Foundation in Bury was established in 2013 with a vision to serve the local community through spiritual, educational, and charitable initiatives. Recognizing the growing need for a hub where individuals could come together for worship, learning, and support, a group of dedicated volunteers and community leaders came together to form the foundation. Through collective efforts and the generous contributions of our supporters, we transformed this vision into a reality. Today, the Al Mahdi Foundation stands as a beacon of hope and unity, offering a wide range of programs and services that cater to the diverse needs of our community members.
Al Mahdi Madrassa – Where it all began
The Al Mahdi Foundation Madrassa was born from the heartfelt aspirations of our community elders, who envisioned a dedicated institution for imparting the teachings of the Ahlulbayt in Bury. In 2015, this dream came to fruition with the unwavering commitment of three passionate members of the community: Miss Isma Khan, Mrs. Aqsah Hussain, and Mrs. Irum Samina.
These dedicated volunteers embraced the MUS (Majlis Ulema Shia) curriculum and successfully enrolled over 90 students within the first two years. Their dedication and hard work laid a strong foundation, enabling the madrassa to grow and thrive, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of our rich heritage among the younger generation.
